Kitchen Garden Farm is now hiring for the 2019 season. Our farm is run by Tim and Caroline and a tight-knit crew of around 15 passionate young farmers.

We grow high-quality organic specialty vegetables for wholesale to stores and restaurants throughout the northeast region. We also produce award-winning sriracha and salsa from ingredients grown on the farm. We emphasize a positive and supportive community among our employees and we take time during every work day to share a meal together and enjoy the fruits of our labor. We are looking for a few high-quality individuals to fill remaining positions for 2019.

Kitchen Crew

We are hiring experienced full time cooks to join our farm kitchen team. Applicants must be able to work full days - shifts available 7am to 5pm Monday through Friday, and 8am-1pm Saturday. Full or part time hours available immediately through the end of October, and part time hours through the winter. Our ideal candidate is hard-working, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.

Responsibilities:
- Clean, sanitize, and set up work station
- Process and preserve farm ingredients (wash produce and operate chopping, cooking, roasting equipment)
- Cook preserved ingredients into products, and operate milling and filling equipment
- Pack, label, palletize finished products
- Clean and sanitize work space according to health and safety standards
- Harvest ingredients on the farm as needed (peppers, tomatoes, celery, carrots)

Qualifications:
- ServSafe certification preferred
- At least 1 year previous kitchen experience
- Strong knowledge of food preparation and preservation methods, techniques, and quality standards
- Able to anticipate needs of others in the kitchen and proactively work to meet those needs
- Strong attention to detail
- Works well with others

Wage is $12/hour plus overtime > 40 hours.

Harvest Crew

We are hiring full-time harvest crew members for the 2019 season. Harvesting positions start in mid-May and run through the end of October or later. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and work Monday through Saturday with speed, endurance, and good cheer. Hours are generally 7am-5pm M-F and 8am-1pm on Saturdays, up to 50 hours per week. Part time schedules (4 days/week) also available. Previous farm experience preferred and responsibilities include harvesting, weeding, working in the washroom, and many other farm tasks. Valid driver’s license, strong attention to detail, safe handling of equipment, ability to work independently and on a team, and eagerness to learn are all essential. We are looking for highly energetic, motivated and passionate individuals who want to do the work necessary to provide our community with the highest quality produce possible.

Wage is $12/hour plus overtime > 40 hours.
